About The Old Coot

My name is Joel but my long time hunting pals and family members call me the "Old Coot". Welcome to my blog. I came by this name after acquiring far too many coot decoys for duck hunting on the Columbia River in beautiful Eastern Washington. I have been an avid bird hunter and waterfowl conservationist for many years. My passion for the outdoors and hunting originally started while studying Biology in my home state of Wisconsin.

I started this blog to share hunting knowledge and memories with friends, family and acquaintances over the many years I've been at it. I hope you find this content useful, amusing and fun.
